My fourth-born child, my third girl, turned 6 yesterday. I can not believe she is already 6. When I found out I was expecting her, I had a 4 year old boy and twin girls who were almost 1. I was already frazzled and crazy and had no idea how I would be able to survive adding another baby to the mix. I found out after her birth that God's timing was perfect (it always is).
Little Red was born on January 12, 2005 at 10:12pm. At that moment, God gave us a tremendous blessing. Eight days after she was born, I got a call that my mother would never be leaving the hospital. Robb and I drove an hour to her town so that she could meet Little Red and so that I could be with my mom for her final days. I spent the next three days with her and my new baby girl before my mom passed away. Having Little Red really helped me get through the next few days and weeks. I had to get up and be a functioning member of society every day because she needed me to take care of her.
Little Red has been such a wonderful part of our lives ever since. Her smile, complete with adorable dimples, is contagious and her bubbly personality can always put me in a good mood.
Our day yesterday was all about Little Red. I made chocolate chip muffins for breakfast, and then we gave her presents before Robb had to go to work. After I got all of the toys out of their packaging, she spent the morning playing with zhu zhu pets. One of the nice things about homeschooling is that we can let them have a day off on their birthdays.
For lunch, she chose to go to IHOP, where she could get a create-a-face pancake.
In the afternoon and evening, she had ballet class and then choir at church. After choir, we came home and had cake.
