Today is not about candy, or new clothes, or big meals, or dying eggs, or egg hunts. Although we did all of those things, I want my children to understand that none of those are what Easter is all about. Easter is about Jesus. It's about how He lived a perfect sinless life. How He was betrayed by one of His disciples. How He was arrested. How He suffered at the hands of Roman soldiers. How He hung on a cross. How He gave His life as a sacrifice for my sin, their sin, your sin. How He was buried in a borrowed tomb. How He rose again that 3rd day. How He still lives. How He wants a relationship with each of us. How we have to accept the sacrificial gift He offers us. How nothing WE do will ever be enough to earn us eternal life in Heaven, but He offers it to us because He loves us. I'm so thankful for what He's done for me.
Again, The Boy could not give me a decent smile. He kept telling me, "I am smiling." Um, no. He still looked handsome, though, in his new duds.
The girls were beautiful, all dressed up in their Easter dresses.
