Birthday Party with a Hot Chocolate Bar

Little Red had her birthday party last month. A couple of years ago, the twins had a faux sleepover, and that's what Little Red wanted this year. I love doing these because the girls get all the fun of the sleepover from about 6-9pm, and then I get to send them home and get some sleep. LOL

One of the things Little Red wanted to do at her party was to have a hot chocolate bar. We had a lot of fun putting this together. First we chose some fun hot chocolate flavors: mint, caramel, French vanilla, mocha, raspberry, and chocolate supreme. We also had some regular hot chocolate packets for those who didn't feel adventurous.

Then we bought a ton of fun toppings and other items to add to the hot chocolate. In addition to regular marshmallows, we found chocolate brownie flavored marshmallows, Neapolitan ice cream flavored marshmallows, and chocolate mint flavored marshmallows at Target. We also had caramel and cookies & cream Hershey kisses, regular and mint chocolate chips, sprinkles, chocolate syrup, and whipped cream. I put the small items in mini mason jars, which made great table decorations. It also allowed me to get the table set up beforehand; I just put the lids on the jars so the marshmallows wouldn't get hard.

The other big activity Little Red had at her party was to decorate tote bags. I was able to find some small plain tote bags at Hobby Lobby, and I also picked up fabric markers. I showed them how they could use painter's tape to create a silhouette to color around if they wanted to. The girls seemed to really enjoy creating their own tote bags.
