Incredible Journey

This year for the A to Z Challenge my theme is Children's Books Around the World. Each book either has a specific setting around the world or is about a world culture.

I've spent this year studying geography - countries and cultures - with the girls. One of the things I love about homeschooling is finding new books to read with my small people, especially ones that go along with what we're studying.

I is for The Incredible Journey by Sheila Burnford

If you've seen the movie, Incredible Journey, then you know the premise of the book. It's set in the Canadian wilderness. Three house pets face starvation, wild animals, and other dangers as they use their instinct to get back to their family.

Other I books around the world:
Picture Books
I Dreamed I Was a Koala by Debra A. Johnson
If You Should Hear a Honey Guide by April Pulley Sayre
The Impossible Riddle by Ellen Jackson
In Wintertime by Kim Howard

Chapter Books
In the Year of the Boar and Jackie Robinson by Bette Bao Lord

Do you think you could survive in the wilderness?
