HelpTeaching.com Review

I can't count the number of times I have been asked how I prepared I feel to teach my older children at home. My answer is always the same - while I may not know everything about everything (who does?), there are so many resources available to help homeschooling parents fill in the gaps to teach their children. One of those resources is the Pro Plan at HelpTeaching.com - a wealth of online lessons, online quizzes, and online practice in math, science, English, and more.

Menu Plan - Week of February 21

High school soccer has begun, which means that my evenings are much crazier. There's no way I can wait until dinnertime to figure out what we're having to eat.

I'm hoping that by sharing my menu plan each week, I'll hold myself more accountable.

Here's what's on our table this week:

Saturday - Barbecue ribs, baked potato salad, corn
Sunday - Leftovers or sandwiches (This is my day to rest.)
Monday - Tangy pulled pork sandwiches, french fries
Tuesday - Orange chicken pasta salad, rolls
Wednesday - Ravioli
Thursday - Creamy ranch chicken nachos, veggies
Friday - Spicy Dr. Pepper shredded pork on tortillas

Home School in the Woods: U.S. Elections Lap-Pak Review

My children have become much more aware of this year's presidential election than previous years. I think because they are older, they have a better understanding of what is going on. It also helps that Ted Cruz spoke about religious liberty at our church last fall. My girls have really enjoyed learning more about the election process by creating lapbooks using HISTORY Through the Ages Hands-On History Lap-Pak: U.S. Elections from Home School in the Woods.

Winner is subject to eligibility verification.”

Over the past year, I have really been making an effort to have a more healthy lifestyle. I've lost almost 20 lbs. I've become more active - jogging at least 3 days a week, playing soccer with the small people, basically not just sitting around on my behind anymore.

I've also been choosing better foods to put into my body. I want my children to grow up making good food choices, and that's not going to happen if I'm not modeling it for them.

Enter GrubMarket - an online store that offers farm-fresh, organic food delivered straight to your doorstep. What could be better? We received the regular-size California Fruit Bounty Box to review.
