D.E.A.R. Monday - January 30

I took Little Red to the Christian bookstore to get a new journal last week. While I was there, I saw a book that jumped out at me so I had to buy it, even though I already have an incredibly long TBR list as it is. (My list on this post is just the top couple of books on that list.) Plus this book jumped to the top of my TBR list since it has to do with prayer. How do you decide where books land on your TBR list (top, middle, bottom, etc.)? Which books get moved to the top for you to Drop Everything And Read?

What I've Finished Reading:

Fervent: A Woman's Guide to Serious, Specific, and Strategic Prayer by Priscilla Shirer - I can't tell you how much I love this book! Priscilla Shirer really breaks down all of the areas where Satan is trying to attack our lives and shares Scripture and prayer strategies to try to counteract his attack. She also includes several perforated prayer cards at the back where I could write my personal prayer for each area and then post it somewhere where I will see it and pray it often. I've marked most of the Scripture references as ones I want to focus on memorizing this year, and many of them you will see me share in my Bible Verses Through the Alphabet posts. This books gets 5 out of 5 smiley faces. 😊😊😊😊😊

Lord, Teach Me to Pray in 28 Days by Kay Arthur - This is another book I will rave about, share with others, and encourage others to read. Kay Arthur shares how the Bible has already given us our model for prayer through the Lord's Prayer. She takes each line of the Lord's Prayer and shows how it is an index, a reference, for us to use to build our own personal prayers. This is another one that gets 5 out of 5 smileys from me. 😊😊😊😊😊
