Road Tripping - Day 1

I'm on my way to Kansas with Little Red and Sassy so that they can compete in the USATF National Jr. Olympic Track & Field Championships. We decided that driving there would be cheaper than flying so I'm doing a road trip farther than I have ever driven before. (I've road tripped before, just never as the driver.)

So far today, I've learned a lot.
1) Music is key! Good music that I can sing and dance to while I drive made it much easier to stay awake and alert for the whole 8 1/2 hours today.

2) I need to go back to the mountains in the fall. Driving through NC and TN mountains today, my first thought was "This is pretty, but I can't imagine how gorgeous it is when the leaves are changing colors."

3) There are a lot of drivers in Tennessee who can NOT drive. Please don't be offended if you're from Tennessee; not all of them were bad, but there were a lot who were.

We stopped in Clarksville, TN for the night, and we'll finish the trip to the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas tomorrow.
