Drop Everything and Read - January 14

One of the areas I want to FOCUS on in 2019 is reading more. Hopefully sharing what I'm reading with you all will help me to keep my focus.

What I've finished so far this year:
  • Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling - I've been late coming to the Harry Potter scene. Brailey has read the whole series and loves them. I wanted to be able to talk with her about something she is interested in so I've started reading them. I now understand the large following that Harry Potter has. J.K. Rowling does a phenomenal job in drawing the reader into the story. My rating - 💙💙💙💙💙
  • Etched in Sand: A True Story of Five Siblings Who Survived an Unspeakable Childhood on Long Island by Regina Calcaterra - Oh my word, this book moved me! The abuse and neglect that the author lived through and how she and her siblings were able to overcome their childhood was incredibly heart-rending. I'm looking forward to reading the book Girl Unbroken, written by the author with her youngest sister. My rating - 💙💙💙💙💙
What I'm reading now:

My rating scale:
💙💙💙💙💙 - I LOVED this book and highly recommend for others to read it. In fact, I would seek out people to recommend it to.
💙💙💙💙 - It was a good book. I encourage others to read it.
💙💙💙 - The book was okay.
💙💙 - Something about the book (the writing style, the plot, a character, etc.) was off-putting to me.
💙 - I did not like this book. I struggled to finish it (or might have not finished it at all).

What are you reading now?
