Techie Homeschool Mom Review

Unit studies - I love, love, LOVE the concept, but I hate the prep time that it usually involves on my end. Sometimes it's not even the preparation time that is the issue; sometimes doing a unit study is far more teacher-involved than I have time to be, especially if the unit study is for just one child. I'm always looking for new unit study products to see if I can find one that is a better fit for our homeschool. I was delighted when we were given the opportunity to review Ancient Rome Online Unit Study from Techie Homeschool Mom.

Read-Aloud: The Hundred Dresses and The Golden Goblet

Oops, I completely missed posting my G read-aloud last week! So this week I'll share a G and an H book. If you've been following along for A through F, you know that my Through the Alphabet theme is read-aloud books. This has been such a fun part of our homeschooling life.

This one is now the reigning 2-mile Region Champion.

She also came in 2nd in the 1 mile and anchored her 4x800m relay team to 3rd place (they were in 4th when she got the baton).

YWAM Publishing C. S. Lewis - A Christian Heroes: Then & Now Review

At our house, we are HUGE fans of YWAM Publishing, a ministry of Youth With a Mission. In fact, you know how usually the mail leading up to Christmas is loaded with catalogs? Well, when the YWAM Publishing catalog was delivered, Brailey took it and marked all of the books she wanted from it - and there were a LOT! Needless to say, when we were given the opportunity to review one of the Christian Heroes: Then & Now books, we were ecstatic. We chose Christian Heroes: C.S. Lewis as our book to review since it was one of the ones at the top of Brailey's wish list.

Fix It! Grammar Review

Several years ago, we were introduced to Institute for Excellence in Writing (IEW) through our homeschool co-op. To say that this drastically changed how I approached writing in our homeschool since then would be an understatement. I was very excited to have the opportunity to review IEW's Fix It! Grammar with Brittany so that we could see if this might be the right grammar for her.

Read-Aloud: The Family Under the Bridge

I'm joining many of my Crew friends in Blogging Through the Alphabet.

My theme for this trip through the alphabet is read-alouds. Some of my favorite memories from when my children were younger was read-aloud time. I loved snuggling up with them on the couch after lunch to devour a good book.
